Bruno Monteferri

Recipient of the Green Talents award 2013

He has worked for over a decade in the Peruvian Society for Environmental Law supporting the creation and management of private and public protected areas. In 2012 he founded Conservamos por Naturaleza, an initiative that gives Peruvians a platform to share their sustainability stories with the world. He co-lead campaigns such as: Hazla por tu Ola, for the protection of Peruvian surf breaks; Hazla por tu Playa, to raise awareness on waste management challenges in Peru and to ban single use plastics in Peru, Reforestamos por naturaleza, to support conservation initiatives. He has published several books and also directed over 50 short videos, including A la Mar. Ultimately, he works to inspire others to connect with nature and take action for the planet. He is an Ashoka Fellow, Marañón Waterkeeper, co-founder of Kunan and Director of the Marine Governance Initiative at SPDA.
