Together into the Unknown

In April 17th we finished co-hosting the Regional Round Square Conference with Markham College. This conference has inspired many of our students to opt to apply for exchanges with other schools, as this is one of the best ways to learn about how other cultures live. We had 97 girls involved in some way with the conference, some in the organization, some as leaders and others as hosts, so there is no doubt of the impact that this event had on our community. The experience was highly significant for our students and can best be summed up by the words of our Head Girls, Brianna Tapia and Cristina Alayza:

“This past week has been unbelievable. Sharing our culture and experiences with students from across the Americas is an unforgettable journey that you cannot miss out on in the future! Doing activities like building a house in Chincha, zip lining/river rafting/rock climbing in Lunahuana, dancing to Peruvian music and building the first healing garden in the Puericultorio, have opened our eyes to an unknown path we never thought we’d experience. Throughout this conference, we’ve truly jumped into the unknown as it has taken us out of our comfort zones and has taught us new things about ourselves and others. This conference showed us the importance of teamwork, creativity, and open-mindedness. It has also introduced us to a new way of making friends from around the world and helped us to create bonds with others that will last forever. We highly encourage all students to take part in such a special journey if the opportunity presents itself to them in the future, just as we did.”
