Acknowledgement of Merit
In San Silvestre, effort and dedication are considered just as important as academic performance. As well as being valued, these attitudes are a way of evaluating whether the pupil is working to her full potential. Prizes are awarded every year for academic achievement, attitude, dedication and effort.
The Primary and Secondary Sections have the same system of Housemarks to encourage pupils to produce good work and participate actively in school life, gaining points for their House. Pupils who make a commitment to participate in different community service projects are also acknowledged.
Every year, together with their teachers, pupils elect the girls who will take on responsibility posts: Form Captain, Deputy Form Captain, Prefects and School Council representatives, as well as a Head Girl, Deputy Head Girl, House Captains, Games Captain, Deputy Games Captain and Magazine Editors.
The different extra-curricular activities held during House Afternoons and Sports Day are also rewarded, emphasizing the integral education provided in San Silvestre School.
